History of Glenwood Caverns and Fairy Caves

Back in the 1890s the Fairy caves were a thriving tourist destination.  Thomas Darrow opened the fairy caves in 1895 and in 1897 became one of the first caverns to be lit by electricity.

Darrow’s sons operated the cave until 1917.  They remained closed for 82years until the Beckleys opened them back up to the public in 1999.
